Counting $$$

We are counting all this money to find out how much we have. First we made small groups of $1.
They could be - five 20 cents
- two 50 cents
- ten 10 cents
- one $1
Then we added up each pile and found we had $25.

Learning about Money....$$$

We are learning how to budget for a families food for a week.
Hamish - I had $150 to spend, I had to make sure I had food for breakfast, lunch and tea. I found it easy to spend the money on a weeks food.
Britten - I had $250 to spend. I had some money left over after lots of fruit and veges so I bought some drinks and some treats.

We are working together on some money activities, learning how to budget. We had a certain amount of money ($120 for two people). We had to make sure we bought food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If we spent lots on junk food we would run out of money for the week.

Hard at work

The perimeter around the outside is 4m.
P= 1m+1m+1m+1m
P=4m

The area of this shape is 1m (squared)
We know that to work out the area the formula is BASE x HEIGHT.
A= 1m x 1m
A=1 m (squared)
